How Is The Birth Confidence Series Different From Traditional Childbirth Classes?
At Driftwood Doula Services, our clients are always encouraged to take traditional childbirth education classes. But the truth is, many childbirth classes focus on teaching the facts of labor, birth, and common hospital procedures. While understanding the process is important, information alone does not always help families feel confident and prepared for when labor begins.
The Birth Confidence Series is designed to answer a different question:
"How do I build the confidence and skills to navigate birth when the time comes?"
Information is everywhere. Preparation is harder to find.
Rather than spending hours sorting through information overload, mixed messages, and conflicting advice from healthcare professionals, books, podcasts, Google, and social media, this series focuses on the practical skills that help families feel confident, in control and empowered as they navigate birth in real time.
The result? Greater confidence, stronger teamwork, and a deeper sense of connection as families prepare to welcome their baby.

Three Interactive Sessions
Session One
Understanding Birth & Preparing Your Mindset
Birth preparation starts long before labor begins.
In this session, we'll explore how labor progresses, what supports physiologic birth, and how mindset, environment, and support can influence the birth experience.
Session Two
Advocacy, Decision Making & Birth Planning
One of the biggest sources of stress during birth is feeling unprepared for unexpected decisions.
This session focuses on helping families understand their options and feel confident participating in decisions throughout pregnancy and labor.
Session Three
Hands-On Labor Skills & Preparing Your Body for Birth
This interactive session focuses on the practical and physical side of labor preparation.
Participants will practice techniques they can use during labor to promote comfort, support labor progress, and work together as a team.
Why Families Love This Approach
Many local hospitals already provide excellent childbirth education focused on labor, birth, and common procedures.
The Birth Confidence Series goes a step further by helping families practice the skills that are often hardest to learn from a book, including advocacy, communication, comfort measures, partner support, and navigating unexpected situations with confidence.
